The State Contest will be held in-person at The University of Missouri-Columbia campus in Columbia, MO on April 26, 2025
All participants must attend in person with their projects and will be interviewed by judges in the preliminary round
State Contest registration opens March 5 and closes March 26. Registration closes a month before the contest due to the large volume of student projects to organize. Paper and website projects are always given to judges before the contest, as judges need time to review the text before interviews at the competition. The registration fee is $25/per student and must be received in order for registration to be complete. All students who are linked to a project must complete registration. If a student does not complete registration, the group will not be able to compete. Students: please provide your t-shirt size when prompted during registration. At the state contest, you will receive a NHDMO shirt at check-in. If you do not provide your size, a shirt will not be reserved for you.T-shirts must be picked up at the state contest, they will not be mailed.
All participating students and their teachers must register and read all the homepage instructions at: mo.nhd.org
Only register once you have been advanced from the regional contest. Please use the same registration login credentials from your regional contest.
As you register, please provide emails that are reachable! Many times, schools block outside emails or registrants do not provide emails that they regularly check. All communication about the state contest will go to your registered emails, so please check your inbox and junk folders for emails from Zfairs or contest staff.
Please scroll down to the bottom of this page to view the student interview schedule and information about the contest once it is available. It is the student's responsibility to bring their project and (several copies of their) project paperwork to the contest for judges, and to arrive on time for their interviews. Interview times cannot be changed at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
